Pirate's Coat Edward, Justaucorps, brown
The so-called Justaucorps
first emerged in the 17th century as part of the military uniform and eventually
found their way into civilian dress. Characteristic features of these particular coats are a close fitting front part, a flared back skirt and a
dividing seam along the waist. It is assumed that the pirates first looted them from the genteel tradesmen and merchants and ultimately
made them a customary part of their own wardrobe.
Our pirate's coat is made of sturdy cotton canvas and fully lined on the inside. Appliquéd trimmings, high-quality metal dome buttons,
large cuffs and pockets with generously sized flaps give the coat that authentic pirate look. It is close fitting in the front, and the skirt is
slightly flared in the back. Just combine it with plain cotton trousers, a medieval shirt and a wide leather belt, and you will get the perfect
Please note: Delivery includes the coat only! The other items pictured above are available separately in our online shop.
