Viking Fibula from Goldsborough, brass

This hoard is one of the largest ever found in England and is now held at the British Museum in London.

The original ring fibula (also called penannular brooch or Celtic brooch) from the early Viking Age was made fromsilver. As the original had lost its pin, this nicely crafted brass replica was fitted with a pin patterned after another broochfrom the same period.
