Bascinet with Visor, 14th Century, 2mm steel
A fully battle-ready reconstruction of a late medieval bascinet helmet of the 14th Century with a hinged Klappvisor.
The bascinet evolved in the early 14th Century from the cervelliere and was usually worn together with a chain mail shirt.
At the bottom our reconstruction has drilled brass buttons, where an aventail can easily be attached. The helmet is also equipped with an artfully made visor crafted from 2mm steel. Both helmet-halves are hand-driven from 2mm strong steel sheet, which are cleanly welded together and polished.
A high class, adjustable padded liner is riveted into the helmet.
